Our Story
The Sacramento Goddess Festival grew from the roots of our first gathering—the Yosemite Goddess Festival. Originally envisioned as an intimate event for a few hundred people to explore conversations around the divine feminine, community, and unity during a time of great societal division, the response quickly surpassed our expectations.
As we planned, the interest grew—first to 500 attendees, then 1,000—and by the end of the festival, we had welcomed more than 1,800 people. They came eager to connect in community, to celebrate through music and ritual, to learn in educational workshops, to share in teachings and exchanges, to join in drum circles, yoga, dancing, and thought leadership.
We quickly realized we were not alone in our hunger for an authentic space brimming with opportunities for connection—from divination classes and group discussions to celebrations, art, and creative expression.
That realization sparked our journey to Sacramento, the City of Trees. We wanted to bring an event that celebrates unity and community to our state capital. The result was the same—a vibrant, welcoming gathering of people ready to show up, exchange ideas, and share their gifts.
From that first spark in Yosemite to our growing festival family in Sacramento, our mission remains the same: to create a space where progressive ideas rooted in ancient wisdom can flourish, where diversity is celebrated, and where every attendee can both learn from others and offer their own unique gifts to the circle.
Each year we gather, we continue to welcome new speakers, authors, ancient wisdom and modern modalities. In summary, the Goddess Festival is a gathering rooted in connection, creativity, and reverence for life in all its forms. When we speak of “Goddess,” we are not referring to a single deity, belief system, or religious path. We use the word as a symbol—an archetype that represents wisdom, creation, intuition, and the living relationship between people, land, and community.
This is a space for exploration, not instruction. You do not need to believe anything, worship anything, or identify in any particular way to belong here. The festival welcomes people of all backgrounds, genders, spiritual paths, and life experiences—including those who are simply curious.
Across the weekend, you’ll encounter speakers, workshops, music, movement, ceremony, art, and moments of stillness. Some experiences are ancient in origin, others modern and evolving. All are offered with care, consent, and respect for personal boundaries.
The Goddess Festival is about remembering connection—to yourself, to others, and to the world around you. Whether you come for learning, healing, celebration, inspiration, or community, you are welcome exactly as you are.
