Path of the Drum: An Introduction to the Drum Circle with Don Schultz
60-Minute Facilitated Experience
In Path of the Drum: An Introduction to the Drum Circle, Don invites participants into a welcoming, rhythm-filled space where curiosity, play, and connection take the lead.
This facilitated-style drum circle is intentionally designed for beginners, those who have never touched a drum, and anyone who believes they “don’t have rhythm.” With gentle guidance and a clear direction, the circle explores rhythmic possibilities in a supportive and inclusive way, offering an alternative to the more chaotic nature of open public drum circles.
Participants are encouraged to experiment, listen, and feel their way into rhythm while also benefiting from the presence and wisdom of more experienced players. The focus is not performance, but connection — to rhythm, to one another, and to something deeper that emerges when sound becomes shared experience.
This session is ideal for those seeking community, grounding, creative expression, or a playful entry point into drumming as a spiritual and embodied practice. No prior experience is required — just a willingness to listen and participate.
About Don Schultz
Don’s journey with the drum began in a circle gathered around a Mother Drum named Heart of Peace — an experience that awakened something ancient and unforgettable within him. What started as curiosity quickly became a calling, leading him away from a conventional career and onto what he calls the Path of the Drum.
Through years of experimentation, visioning, and deep listening, Don discovered that drums are not meant to be forced into form, but allowed to become what they are meant to be — each with its own voice, personality, and spirit. Today, Don no longer considers himself a maker of drums, but a guide who listens to them and helps others do the same.
His work bridges craft, spirituality, and lived experience, inviting people to feel rhythm not just as sound, but as something that moves through the bones, memory, and spirit.
